Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary of Ravenna is in the process of rescuing a number of animals in Indiana involving mini-horses, a mini-donkey, a pygmy goat, a pot belly pig, and alpacas.

Over the past several years they have expanded their services to assist law enforcement in any state requesting their help with farm animal and horse abuse cases. The intake criteria still applies across the board, and cruelty charges have to be filed against someone in order for the organization to provide rescue, rehab and adoption services.

A few days ago, a call came in from the Humane Society of Elkhart County in Indiana. They are handling a farm animal cruelty case and have requested the assistance of Happy Trails. They are planning to pick up the animals that are in a temporary holding facility and bring them back to Happy Trails for rehabilitation and placement. The challenge they face is space! Currently they have very limited room at the sanctuary due to the high number of cruelty cases that have come in recently.

“Our goal is to place these animals before they even arrive in the state and to have pre-approved homes waiting for them to assist with their continued recovery. Please help us spread the word!” says Annette, Executive Director.

Up for placement are 4 mini-horses (three paints, one chocolate), 1 mini-donkey (cute as a button), 1 pygmy goat, 1 pot belly pig, and 2 alpacas.

“Thanks for sharing this info and for helping us find homes for these guys. Some of the animals are still fairly thin and will need a caring soul with a big heart and a lot of love to give,” says Annette. But you will be getting all that love right back in return!

Happy Trails is on Facebook where you can stay updated on these rescues and all of their work.
