Art is in the Air
New artists and annual favorites will showcase their work at the Village Peddler Festival. Mingle with friends and soak up a bit of much-needed crisp air and fall weather while enjoying this year’s display of craftsmanship at the 35th annual Village Peddler Festival.
The meandering pathway and beautiful grounds of Lake Metroparks Farmpark in Kirtland is the backdrop for this juried show which showcases more than 175 craftsmen and artisans from Northeast Ohio and the surrounding states.
Known as one of the best Ohio festivals, it is no surprise vendors travel from many states as do festival attendees. With such a variety of craftsmen brings a large variety of unique products, many we are not used to seeing locally. Of course, all of the local favorites will be returning.
All items are crafted and made in the manner of Americana, traditional, country, contemporary and fine art. Items include folk art, baskets, flowers, pottery, candles, soaps, wreaths, quilting, dolls, tole painting, stained glass, blown glass, Shaker brooms, birdhouses, jewelry, angels, beach glass creations, original art, clothing, hats, mittens, purses, Santas & snowmen, black bear art, woven rugs, slate paintings, photography, painted gourds, potpourri, wind chimes, and miniatures Fall and Christmas accents, vintage finds, twig furniture, garden art, wool appliques, clothing and more.

Each year the event grows in number of vendors and festival goers. New vendors are added yearly so that the show does not become routine or standard. What once began with 30 crafters and a 1,000 in attendance has grown into more than 175 craftsmen and artisans with upwards of 20,000 people attending. Festival owner and producer Bobbi Rice contributes the longevity and success of the festival to be the quality of the craftsmen, their love of their trade and the unique products available for purchase.
Attendees will have the chance to meet and talk with crafters, many designing and creating on-site. Many craftsmen say the festival is the best in the state and at the best venue with attendees saying it has the most selection of any event they have attended and shopped at.
