SUMMARY:Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities Hosts Community ‘Lab Night’ Event
DESCRIPTION:The Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (GCBDD) will be hosting a free Lab Night for all community members on April 13th from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Metzenbaum Center\, located at 8200 Cedar Road\, Chesterland. \nAttendees will have the opportunity to visit GCBDD’s science lab to complete science experiments involving static\, electricity\, wind and water and many more. Participants will even have the opportunity to take a few of the experiments home. \nIn addition to the hands-on science experiments\, there will also be demonstrations and an opportunity to visit the Geauga Park District’s portable planetarium. The portable planetarium is by ticket only. Attendees are encouraged to come early to get tickets. \n“This is a fun opportunity for our community members to learn about different science experiments and get hands-on experience\,” said GCBDD’s Service and Support Administrator and Community Connections Coordinator Janice Chesnes. “Not only will guests be able to complete different experiments\, but they will also be able to take a couple of them home to display proudly!” \nFor more information about the GCBDD\, visit The Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities. \nAbout the Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities \nThe Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities\, known as The Bessie Benner Metzenbaum Center\, was founded in 1966 to provide services and support to individuals in Geauga County who have developmental disabilities. Today\, our main priority continues to be enhancing those individuals’ lives through our services. The Metzenbaum Center currently supports more than 800 individuals and their families in Geauga County by helping them live\, learn and earn in our community. \n
