Post Polar Vortex Farmers’ Market: My goodness, we made it through the historic deep freeze, but not without some casualties. Here’s hoping for a milder rest of the winter and spring so we can enjoy some fresh green produce soon. Thank you to everyone who came out in the snow storm last week to visit the market – we so appreciate your support and your wonderful snowy day conversations.
This week, SCRATCH, free range food will be set up inside the market again.
On the menu:
- Breakfast: French Toast and Sausage Patties (rustic bread from the market soaked in Breakneck Acres Eggs and Ohio whole milk and cinnamon with local maple syrup and Duma’s breakfast sausage).
- Breakfast Pizza on green onion pita (GF available) with with egg, sausage and cheese.
- Lunch: Chicken Salad on a Pita or a Salad (pasture chicken shredded with a celery, onion, green onion, diced pears, spices and a light dressing served on a homemade green onion pita, or a romaine salad with pears).
- Pizza on green onion pitas (GF available) with your choice of homemade tomato sauce, grassfed cheese, sausage, peppers and onions!
- Chicken Soup (pastured chicken, veggies, spices)
- Drinks: Hot Apple Cider, Hot Herbal Tea
Market vendors offer a wide selection of baked goods (including traditional, vegan, gluten free); goat, sheep, and cow milk cheeses; maple syrup and maple products; honey and honey products; herb vinegars and oils, jams and jellies; dried herbs; preserves; salsa, dip and baking mixes; locally roasted coffee and beans; hot and cold prepared foods, including local meats, eggs and cheese, and vegetarian and vegan, pastured meats and eggs; organic dry beans, corn meal, polenta, whole wheat flour, wheat berries; natural soaps, lotions, and bath products, candles, dog treats, hypertufas, and more!
The market welcomes the Ohio Direction Card and credit/debit cards are also welcome; customers may visit the market info table to swipe the card in exchange for market tokens. This week we’re offering our Lettuce Loot match for SNAP customers.
