Edinburg Fire Department Receives Two Grants

The Edinburg Fire Department is proud to announce it has recently been awarded two grants.

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant will replace their aging cardiac heart monitors with new state-of-the-art technology monitors that will enhance treatment in the field.

The second grant award is from the State of Ohio Bureau of workers compensations which will provide each of the ALS (Advanced Life Support) Ambulances with power cots, reducing injuries to personnel.

Since 2005, Edinburg Fire Department has secured over $812,000 dollars in grants for the township. That’s great news for every resident!

Speaking of heart monitors….

The fire department offers a Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life – threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use a AED, and relieve chocking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

This course is for those in the healthcare field – I.E. EMT’S, Paramedics, Nurses, ETC.

This course is approximately 4 hours in length with video, written test, and practical hands on training.

Renewal class for this course is 3 hours in length.

The course is free for Edinburg Township residents and non-residents are $25.00 each.
