Join the Portage Park District in celebrating the reconstruction and paving of a section of The PORTAGE Hike and Bike Trail on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 11:00 a.m.
The 3.6 mile portion includes the oldest sections of the growing trail system, from Oakwood St. in Ravenna to Lake Rockwell Rd. in Franklin Township, which has been closed since mid-October for renovation, bringing it to the same standard width and asphalt surface as the adjoining sections in Kent and Ravenna.
Refreshments will be available at the ribbon cutting ceremony at the Lake Rockwell Road parking lot trailhead near Beckwith Orchards, 1617 Lake Rockwell Rd.
