Meet the Portage Trail Walkers group at the Cleveland Rd. Trailhead in Ravenna.
From Streetsboro, take Rt 14 East to Cleveland Road into Ravenna, to the Hike & Bike Parking lot on Right across from Ravenna Tire.
Kent/Ravenna people take Rt 59 (Main St. Ravenna) to Sycamore St. North (Catholic Church). Go to Cleveland Road, cross railroad tracks and park on left across from Bob Sumerel Tire Co.
The walk is on a flat trail, asphalt trail and will be five miles.
Rules for Hiking in the Winter
- Dress warm. Several layers that can be opened for ventilation is best.
- Mittens are better than gloves for the hands.
- Stocking caps are better than baseball hats.
- Wool socks and waterproof boots are great especially when the trail is wet.
