It’s been another busy year! By its end, the Portage Park District will have acquired another 433 acres of land, including 1.5 miles of future hike and bike trail corridor. We’ve made great strides in the maintenance and repair of park infrastructure and in natural areas stewardship through invasive species management and tree plantings. We’re increasing our opportunities for community engagement and continue to partner with communities and organizations across the county to create public spaces for all to enjoy, all year long.
Our small park levy provides steady funding that allows us to leverage outside funds, (including an additional $3.25 million in grants for projects this year), and private contributions to our Portage Park District Foundation help to fund park amenities and programs that yield extra value–please consider becoming a Friend.
We hope you’re able to get out, explore and enjoy your beautiful parks and trails this season….for fun, for health, for LIFE!
From all of us at Portage Park District, THANK YOU for your support.
Join us and #OptOutside this Black Friday, then share the park love and your photos with us on Facebook!
