Help us reach the county with the TRUTH – that there’s far more good than bad that exists, and it’s time we start telling it!

Portage News exists to report positive local news – nothing else!

Little Acorn Media, LLC, which houses Portage News, believes that the world is still full of good people, good places, and good communities in spite of what the typical news outlets report. We believe it’s time to counteract the negative forces which dominate the media and go against what they tell us – that people do not read positive news. We establish locally based e-news outlets where residents can read about the good who, what, where, and when’s that take place in their towns. By bringing the TRUTH to the ‘front page’ of your daily reading, that there really are a whole lot of great people who care about one another and are more than willing and able to support one another, we aim to strengthen community relationships, support local businesses, and encourage people to get out and get involved.

Local Businesses

We are 100% committed to our goal as individuals and as a company to support local business. Communities cannot be healthy and flourish without good people, nor can they flourish without successful local businesses. We love small town mom and pop shops as well as those larger companies that offer viable products and services with a sincere desire to serve people.  If you are interested in advertising with us, we offer awesome packages which include not only visually appealing ads created by our talented design team, but what sets us apart are the personalized feature stories you will receive.

These unique stories introduce readers to the real people behind the business as well as highlight your special products or services. They read like an intriguing tale about a member of the community, but at the same time include keywords for SEO marketing purposes. You can receive up to eight personalized stories depending on the package you choose. As a team, we commit to heavily promoting these features on all of our social media outlets and send you statistics after a two to three week period.  We also offer free workshops and a number of other free benefits. You can find more information and REVIEWS at our Little Acorn Media website.  Look for Current Offers at the top.

Writers Writers Writers!

Do you like to write? Would you like to contribute articles on a regular OR occasional basis? We would LOVE to have you! These do not need to be perfectly constructed, error free copy. We can edit that part. We want stories about the group of teens that painted widow Jones’ house; how you got the cows back into the pen after the storm; what the local hunting club is planning for the next season; how everyone came together to raise funds for Suzie’s treatments….you get the idea. YOU have positive local news others want to read. You can help get the word out by passing those things on to us and we will get them into story form as needed.  Contact us HERE and we will call and discuss what you would like to contribute. Become a part of the positive change that Portage News is already making in your community!

Portage County is a great place to live! If you don’t already know that – stick around and we’ll show you otherwise!
