Portage News exists for one reason: to report positive news in Portage County.
We already know you are loving the positive outlet that we are providing for those who are tired of hearing the negative side of their county. We won’t deny that negative things happen that need to be addressed, but when the focus is overly negative, one’s view of their community begins to look very dark and bleak and by instinct, people begin to pull inward.
We are here to tell you that there are a hundred good deeds to report for every evil one. There are people who care about their neighbors, about their local businesses, about the park district, the many organizations who offer support and help, and about the schools our children attend. We at Little Acorn Media want to restore a healthy balance to the local media by providing an outlet for these hundreds of stories that happen every single day.
If you are in a position that sends press releases about up coming school events, about awards achieved, about fundraisers, etc., we want you to share it with us. If you know those people who work in that area of their school, please pass this information along!
