Auditions
The 1st round of auditions will be held on April 13 in Iva Walker Auditorium at James A. Garfield High School (10233 State Route 88, Garrettsville, Ohio). All contestants must be prepared to sing without musical accompaniment.
This is a closed audition with no audience and has been broken into the following categories and time slots:
•Youth – Ages 8-12 – 1:00 pm
•Teens – Ages 13-17 – 2:00 pm
•Adults – Ages 18 & Up – 3:00 pm
Semi-Finals Show
Contestants advancing to the 2nd round will sing in front of an audience at Iva Walker Auditorium on May 18. Participants in the Youth and Teen categories are scheduled to perform beginning at 4:00 pm. Adult contestants are scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $3 each and are on sale now. Finals Competition
The final competition for Garrettsville Idol will be emceed by Big Chuck and Lil’ John at Garrettsville Summerfest on Sunday, June 29. All contestants will be judged by a panel of three judges. There will be a final Sing Off performed by the top three adult contestants selected by the judges. The winner of this Sing Off will win the Grand Prize. All adult contestants must be prepared to sing two songs at the final competition. Please note that not everyone will have the opportunity to sing both of their songs, so choose wisely.

- Youth Winner-$500 Cash
Competition Rules
In all rounds of the contest, there will be a four minute time limit for each contestant. In some cases the judges may use their own discretion in regards to limiting the contestant’s time.
A different song must be performed for each round and the song must be family friendly. Inappropriate lyrics, costumes, and movements may result in disqualification.
Judges will be rating participants on stage presence, showmanship, and ability.
The adult Grand Prize Winner is not eligible to participate in Garrettsville Idol for two years.
