On August 23 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. the Hiram Police Department will be holding its 3rd Annual Cops and Kids Fishing Day event at Camp Asbury in Hiram. Come spend the fun filled day fishing with your Hiram PD members, meet Hiram PD’s new mascot Copper, and make new friends.

Lunch will be provided by Haylett’s BP. There will be prizes, bait will be provided, and everyone is welcome to attend. Last year the event was very well attended. Big fish were caught and the smiles were never ending.

“This is a program designed to bring police officers and kids closer together, build bonds and friendships, and it also is directed toward building family unity. Parents are encouraged to participate in the event and join in with the fun,” says Hiram Chief Ed Samec. “In our busy and hectic lifestyles nowadays, it is easy to let family unity slip by a bit. This program is also geared toward reminding families that quality time is important and does not have to cost a lot of money…go fishing!”
