The Portage County Randolph Fair starts next Tuesday! But for Jr. Fair participants who own animals, they will begin moving in on Sunday and Monday. Those who have market animals have spent all year working toward this annual event and are excited to see what kinds of profits they will receive at the auctions that will take place on Wednesday and Saturday.
All fair attendees are invited to participate in these auctions. Whether an individual or a business, it’s so important to support the efforts of these young people who have invested themselves faithfully into their projects and have learned many valuable life lessons. Supporting local youth and acknowledging the qualities of a dedicated work ethic which will ultimately be returned to the community, or another fortunate community, cannot ever be deemed insignificant. Many local Portage County businesses have purchased animals at these auctions over the decades that have allowed the thriving 4-H livestock clubs to continue and contribute to the enormous success of the Randolph Fair – now in its 155th year!
One such business is The Middlefield Banking Company (MB). With a 112 year history and branches in both Mantua and Garrettsville, MB has established a reputation as a very involved neighborhood bank. As Kathy Vanek, Branch Manager in Mantua says, “It’s a community bank and we are still able to establish relationships and make decisions to help our customers. Customers become your family.” That’s why they participate in and support local events including the Portage County Fair! They believe in the truth that strong relationships build strong communities.
Below are a few of the recent requests they have received from area youth whose animals will be at the auction this year. Middlefield Bank will most certainly be in the crowd on sale dates to make their annual purchases! Not only will they support these youth, but they will also distribute the meat to their employees as a thank you to their dedication to the bank. Everyone wins at The Middlefield Banking Company – the customers, the youth in the community, and the employees!
Enjoy these invitations to the livestock auctions and come on out to support some of the best youth of Portage County!
