What if you found a type of exercise that was so much fun you didn’t even consider it to be ‘working out?’

What if you could be part of a group, never feel intimidated, be able to go at your own fast or slow pace, yet still feel equal with everyone else?

What if this exercise program actually increased your desire to want to learn more, never seemed to get old or boring, and kept giving you the results you were after?

You have just read a partial definition of one of the most popular forms of exercise in the world today – Zumba® Fitness! Approximately 14 million people take weekly Zumba classes in over 140,000 locations across more than 185 countries.

What exactly is Zumba?

Zumba® Fitness is a feel-happy workout. It is based on the principle that a workout should be “Fun and Easy to Do”allowing Zumba® Fitness participants to stick to the program and achieve long-term health benefits in both body and mind. A mixture of body-sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps, the routines utilize the principles of aerobic interval and resistance training. A combination of fast and slow rhythms tone and sculpt the body, maximizing caloric output, fat burning and total body toning.

Where can you find a class?

Right here in Portage County at Candance Academy in Mantua Corners with certified instructor Stephanie Fisher!

Since July 2013, Candance Academy has been offering Zumba classes and has people enrolled ranging in age from 18 to 55. “It is a good workout for everyone!” says owner Candace Szarka. “I know a friend who owns a studio and has people older than that in her Zumba classes.”

If you’re feeling a little out of shape right now and a bit intimidated about joining a group, Candace has a word of encouragement. “The good thing about Zumba is that if you feel something is too difficult for you when you start, you can modify and work your way up to the level.”

When are classes offered?

Choose Wednesday evenings, Saturday mornings, or both! “The class is a no commitment class, meaning you come to class as your schedule works for you.” How great is that! These times and days will run through June and will most likely continue after that as well.

Perhaps the best way to decide if this is for you is to try one of the drop in classes for just $7.00. You can continue to do this until you want to make a longer term commitment at which point you can take advantage of this great deal: 10 classes for $60 with no expiration.

Not much to lose in that kind of a deal – well, out of pocket that is. If you came to be a ‘loser’ of weight, then you’ll be able to do that until you’re fully satisfied…and most likely be hooked by then as you will have experienced far more than weight loss. You’ll have made lots of new friends, feel like a whole new person, and be ready to enjoy life like never before!
