Artwork from students of the Streetsboro City School District from grades kindergarten-12 will be on display at Robinson Health Center Streetsboro. The event, being held by Parents for Public Schools Streetsboro (PPSS), is free and open to the public.
All of the art was created at school under the direction of the Streetsboro art teachers, Samantha Copthorne, Michele Forsyth, Sherri Koppel, and Connor Yeager.
An online auction of the art will be held to raise funds for the school’s art programs. Visit this website for more information.
Last year, the Celebration of Arts Dinner & Auction, which was well attended, featured entertainment which included performances by the Streetsboro High School Jazz Band, the Streetsboro Juggling Club, music by SHS songwriting class as well as dancers from the Keithe Williams Performing Arts Academy.
Local resident Roger Troyer was the auctioneer for the event, which was highlighted by the sale of a three night stay at a beach-front condo in North Carolina, lunch with Streetsboro Mayor Glenn Broska, a rafting trip for four courtesy of Crooked River Adventures of Kent, tickets for two Club Seats for the upcoming season of the Lake Erie Monsters, two Akron Civic Theatre tickets, two hand-painted chairs by Sherri Koppel, and several other items.
Michael Daulbaugh, Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Streetsboro City Schools, said of last year’s art show, “The PPSS student art show and auction were a huge success! It was great to see so many quality pieces of art displayed and attendance at the reception was overwhelming.”
