The High Point Market in North Carolina is the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world. It attracts 75,000 people to the city every six months. Serious retail home furnishings buyers can be found in High Point twice a year because if you can’t find it in High Point…it probably doesn’t exist!

The spring show just finished in April and Randolph Home Furnishings owner Laurie, along with her son Dan, spent lots of time wandering around some of the 11.5 million square feet in 180 buildings where more than 2000 exhibitors display the latest furniture styles. Exhausting work it is to be in the furniture business sometimes!

Laurie and Dan at High Point, NC

Family owned and operated since 1955, Randolph Home Furnishings began with Paul and his wife Barbara who sold hardware, electronics, appliances and did heating and cooling. As the family grew, all six of the children, Laurie, Gary, Denise, Kevin, Jeff and Greg, had a part in the business.

Over the years, the store expanded to include furniture, flooring, window treatments and in-home design consultation. The vision of the founders continued to change and expand to meet the needs of their customers, but one thing did not change: the honesty and integrity that was instilled by the original founders.

“In this day of poor customer service, it was refreshing to work with the staff of Randolph Home Furnishings. They were helpful, patient, and even the delivery people followed up to make sure we were happy. Any future furniture purchase we consider we will certainly look to Randolph Home Furnishings first.” ~ Donna

In 1997, Laurie took over the business and introduced residential and commercial design to round out the business. In 2005, Laurie’s son Dan and niece Katie became third generation members of the team, and in 2008, Laurie’s husband Al Greiner joined the business, adding home construction and remodeling knowledge into the picture.
