On Sunday, June 1, Aurora Parks & Recreation Department & Freedom Greyhound Rescue of Aurora invite you to attend the 2014 Freedom Dog Fest sponsored by Purina Rally to Rescue. All breeds welcome!
- Kicking off the event is the 5K Run and 1.75 Mile Mutt Strut. Registration begins at 7:30 am.
- 5K run begins at 8:30 am and Mutt Strut begins at 9:15 am. Awards to top runners!
- Dogs permitted on Mutt Strut ONLY and must be leashed.
- Course start/finish location is at Sunny Lake Park, 885 Mennonite Rd., Aurora, OH 44202.
- Features include water stops, timers, t-shirts for the first 150 registrants, and refreshments.
- Registration Fee is $20 for pre-registration before May 30; $25 day of race; $35 both races. Register online.
Following the run, the Freedom Dog Fest continues at TRAILS & TAILS DOG PARK, 841 Page Rd., Aurora, OH 44202. Free Admission. Pet owners will enjoy letting their dogs romp in the one acre fenced dog pens. Visit rescues and vendors. Win prizes and raffles. Watch the Greyhound Fun Run at 11:30 am. Meet Abraham Lincoln! Participate in the Patriotic Dog/Owner Costume Contest at 1:00 pm and more.
