The Citizens for Portage Parks are pleased to report that Issue 10 has officially passed with over 54 percent of the vote!
We are so thankful to all the voters who supported our parks. We knew that if we communicated the current desperate situation that our county communities would rise up to support our parks. Portage County deserves a great park system.
We also know that passing this levy means that our work is actually just beginning. We are committed to continuing to work with our Portage Park District to develop a park system that enriches our communities, becomes a valued economic development partner, and offers healthy recreation and nature programming and services.
We have a solid vision for implementation plans in the short-term and look forward to seeking community input for the longer vision.
Find out how the park plans to use the funds by visiting the Portage Park District’s FAQ page. These four preserves are currently not open to the public, but now that the levy has passed, they are targeted to be opened.
