As construction continues on the campus of NEOMED (Northeast Ohio Medical University), the community readies for the opening of the NEOMED Education and Wellness (NEW) Center, which will be unveiled late this summer at the culmination of the University’s 40th anniversary.

The first area of the center to open will be Sequoia Wellness in mid-August. Sequoia Wellness offers degreed wellness professionals, nutritionists and medical experts to ensure personalized wellness plans for each member. These wellness experts will provide each member with a multi-dimensional health assessment that analyzes overall muscular strength, endurance, body composition, flexibility, sleep quality, life satisfaction and much more. Unlike traditional gyms, Sequoia Wellness will feature overall wellness programming such as wellness education, nutrition services and cooking demonstrations as an additional element at its fitness facility.

All base-level land and aquatic group exercise classes are included for members in addition to:

  • Spacious fitness floor with state-of-the-art equipment
  • Lap and warm-water therapy pools
  • Multi-use basketball court
  • Physical therapy area
  • Free weight area
  • Steam rooms, saunas and whirlpool
  • Group exercise classrooms
  • Rock climbing wall
  • Activity-based childcare

Sequoia Wellness enrollment is open for community members with an exclusive tiered early sign-up incentive. The first 250 members will receive a 75 percent discount off of the enrollment fee. The next 250 (members 251-500) will receive 50 percent off enrollment, and all members beyond 500 will receive 25 percent off if they enroll before Sequoia Wellness opens in August. For more information about Sequoia Wellness visit the website or call 330.578.9030.
