It’s that time of year when we can eat fresh, locally grown produce and enjoy many of the local business offerings as they join together at the many markets popping up all over the county. Here’s an incomplete list of some you may find near you! If you know of others, please add the location, day, and times in the comments and we’ll get them published with the rest here. Get outside, support local growers and business, and have fun!

Tuesday

All vendors will be in the parking lot for 2014. Eating and seating areas are now on the lawn.

All of our vendors are local farmers or businesses from Northeast Ohio who have been checked and verified. They provide our market with a variety of fresh vegetables, herbs, fruits, pickles, jams, jellies, fresh baked bread, fresh eggs, and much more.

Bring all of your knives, scissors, lawn mower blades, pocket knives, hatchets, and axes to be sharpened at our market while you shop!

Downtown Ravenna Farmers Market/Robinson Memorial Farmers Market

Through September 19

Downtown Ravenna Farmers Market, which moved to Robinson Memorial this year, will provide an influx of locally grown, fresh food options and improve accessibility of healthy food products for those living in a food desert. Live music, an abundance of vendors, and demonstrations are yours to enjoy. The Ohio State University Extension will offer educational sessions for both food producers and consumers, including nutrition and dietary exchange; food safety and handling; preparation; and storage and preservation.

It is easily accessible at the Loomis Parkway entrance to Robinson Memorial Hospital. It will be held in the parking lot just beyond Coleman Professional Services. Vendors and Sponsors may contact Erica Sadaj, NDS, at 330-297-6400 ext. 234.

Along with the fresh, locally grown produce, free blood pressure screenings will be offered from 2 to 4 pm on June 26, July 24, August 28 & September 25.

Haymaker Market

The market has more than 40 vendors signed up for the season, and an abundant variety of produce available. Vendors also offer a wide selection of baked goods; goat, sheep, and cow milk cheeses; maple syrup and maple products; honey and honey products; herb vinegars, local meats, eggs and cheese, and vegetarian and vegan, pastured meats and eggs; corn meal, polenta, whole wheat flour, wheat berries; natural soaps, lotions, dog treats, and much more!
