Feline Spay and Neuter Clinic
In an effort to help with the growing cat problem in Portage County, Rose’s Rescue along with the Portage Co Dog Warden’s Office will be hosting an all cat spay and neuter clinic on Tuesday July 15, 2014. The cost per spay or neuter will be $20 per cat. An appointment is required. The $20 must be prepaid to hold an appointment spot. The $20 is nonrefundable if you do not show up for your scheduled appointment or cancel less than 48 hours prior to the event.

The Community Center at Mantua Center will continue to be open thru the summer on Tuesdays in the old Mantua Center School Building, on Center Rd. just north of SR 82. Free, everyone’s invited. Children must have adult supervision, but we’ve got craft materials and lots of different games we’d be glad to teach you all to play, adults and children alike. Hours are 9:30 am until late afternoon. (We close when everyone’s gone but the leadership.) Bring food to share for potluck lunch at noon. Our current service project is making dresses for little girls in Africa. Pattern is simple and children can participate. We re-open at 5:00 for the Don’t Eat Alone supper potluck served at 5:30, to which we extend a special invitation to anyone who eats way too many meals by themself: widowed, divorced, never married, spouse traveling, it doesn’t matter. Beverages and tableware provided.

Annual Spelling Bee

The annual spelling bee, sponsored by Trumbull County Retired Teachers, will be held on July 10, at 1 p.m. at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds. Mark your calendar for the start of the Mantua Farmer’s Market season. The Market is under new sponsorship this year, Christ Lutheran Church is in charge. All vendor fees will go into their Handicapped Entrance Project fund. Price is $5.00 per date. Our vendors sell a variety of items and more vendors are needed. Adventure Expeditions: The Grand Canyon of the East

Library Now Accepting Donations for the Annual Summer Book Sale

The Friends are now accepting donations for their annual summer book sale which will take place July 30 – August 2. Bring gently used or new children’s and adult books, collectibles, comic books, CDs, DVDs, audio books on CD, puzzles and games for adults and children, sheet music, coffee table books, and prints to the Geauga West Library during regular library hours. No textbooks or encyclopedias, please. A receipt for your donation is available. Funds raised from the book sale support adult and children’s programming at the Geauga West Library. What’s Bugging Your Plants & Trees
