From Fox 8 News — A well-known police chief is getting his very own radio show.

Brimfield Police Chief David Oliver landed a gig at WNIR 100-FM. He’ll be hosting a show on Saturdays from 7 to 10 p.m.

“I don’t know how it happened. Just like how I don’t know how the book happened. It’s just been a wild ride,” said Oliver.

His fame started on the department’s Facebook page and quickly blossomed after that.

He recently wrote a book called “No Mopes Allowed,” and now he has his very own radio show.

“Being right in our backyard in the Akron area, we figured people would enjoy hearing what he has to say and interacting with him live not just through Facebook and social media,” said Station Manager Bill Klaus.

The chief’s show is going to be called “Breaking Good,” not to be confused with the television show “Breaking Bad,” which centers around drugs and other criminal activity.

He said he wants the show to be an open forum where people can bring up any kind of topic.

“They could call to talk about the weather, they could call to talk about the president, they could call to talk about law enforcement. It’s not going to be a law enforcement specific show,” said Oliver.
