The Hiram and Garrettsville Police Departments recently held the Shop with a Cop program at Streetsboro Kmart.
This year’s program provided 12 families with 30 children from the Crestwood and Garfield school districts with resources needed to bring Christmas to their homes.
The Shop with a Cop program provides Hiram/Garrettsville area children, and their families, the opportunity to enjoy the holiday season.
The program is designed for less fortunate and under privileged children to go Christmas shopping, for themselves and families, with a police officer.
The program brings about much heartfelt joy to a lot of area children and families. “The Shop with a Cop program is one of many programs we hold throughout the year, but it is one of our favorite, It is so heartwarming to see the looks on all of the kid’s faces when they are filling their shopping carts with gifts for themselves and their families.” says Hiram Police Chief Ed Samec.
Our Shop with a Cop program attracts volunteers from all over Portage and Geauga Counties, this is the time of the year that folks are extra generous go the extra mile to make sure that our program is a success.
Hiram Police Chief Ed Samec would like to express a huge Thank You to the Streetsboro Kmart for hosting this event again this year.
