Here in Northeastern Ohio, it’s not unusual for outdoor adventures to be rescheduled due to less-than-ideal weather conditions. That’s why when spring break rolled around, and the weather turned soggy, we took matters into our hands and took our kids to Zip City in Streetsboro.
Billing itself as, “The only indoor trampoline, zip line and rock wall park on earth,” Zip City gave us the opportunity to bounce to our heart’s content and sail through the air at up to 20 MPH in spite of the weather outside. And, since the weather had our pent-up kids nearly climbing the walls at home, it was also the ideal place to take them to try scaling the 32-foot rock wall. With state-of-the-art repelling stations, they burned off that extra energy safely.
While an hour of trampoline time initially sounded too short, we looked to find that only half an hour had passed after we had been jumping for what felt like ages. Even the kids were worn out after bouncing on the 10,000 square feet of trampolines. We spent the majority of our time in the open jump courts and the trampoline foam pit, but the basketball and dodge ball courts looked like fun, too.
The high point of our visit (pun intended) was most definitely the zip line. After being fitted with helmets and the proper gear, we took turns getting clipped to the zip line, three stories up, which spans almost 220-feet. They offer pricing per zip, for new zip liners, or an unlimited pass for more hard-core riders.
Zip City also has an arcade, where players can play games like Fruit Ninja or Pirates Hook to earn credits towards Zip City merchandise or zip line rides. In addition, they also feature a 1,200-square-foot mezzanine, located at 14-feet high. It’s a great place for parents to lounge on couches and club chairs, watching their kids, since the space overlooks both the trampoline and zip line areas. It’s also a great place to take a break, like we did, when half of our party was done jumping and zipping, but the other half wasn’t.
We had an awesome time at Zip City but don’t just take my word for it — take a look here! The next time rain showers or thunderstorms mess up your outdoor plans, head over to Zip City for some fun, active adventures indoors.
