The Portage Park District Foundation will hold its Headwaters Adventure Race on Saturday, July 14th beginning at Buchert Park in Mantua Village at 8:00 a.m. The cost of the race is $49 per person or $29 for ages 18 and under. Boat rentals are available. Registration is online at Portage Park District.
Participants may race solo or grab a friend to form a 2-person all-phase or relay team. Starting at Buchert Park, racers will run 2 miles on the Headwaters Trail, bike 10 miles on rural roads past nature preserves and preserved farmland, then paddle 5 miles on the Upper Cuyahoga Scenic River.
Race sponsors include Snap Fitness, Fit Chicks, Sequoia Wellness, Advanced Rehabilitation and Health Specialists, Keelhaulers Canoe Club, Planet Fitness, The Village of Mantua, and Hometown Bank.
