Enjoy the family event of the fall, the 38th Annual Village Peddler Festival held on Saturday, September 14th, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lake Metroparks Farmpark in Kirtland. The hillsides, beauty and charm are the perfect setting for the more than 175 craftsmen and artisans selling their handmade wares along the shaded paths of this outdoor marketplace. The variety of unique one-of-a-kind gifts and home décor in styles of traditional, country, contemporary, farmhouse, vintage and fine art is truly amazing. Your shopping experience is enhanced by the sounds of toe-tapping folk and bluegrass music of The Silver String Band, daily from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Craftsmen and artisans come from all over Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Michigan to Lake County to sell their wares. Featured items include folk art, flowers, pottery, candles, soaps, wreaths, quilting, dolls, tole painting, stained glass, Shaker brooms, birdhouses, jewelry, original art, clothing, hats, mittens, purses, Santas, snowmen, woven rugs, slate paintings, photography, painted gourds, potpourri, windchimes, furniture, slate signs, wooden toys, Fall and Christmas accents, vintage finds, garden art, wool appliques, seasonal wreaths, wood carvings, art glass, copper designs, Fairy gardens and more. This year’s festival will feature more than 50 new artisans with new items such as hand-carved wooden birds, antique recycled windows, barnwood crafts, hanging glass terrariums and vintage clothing repurposed.

Feast on delicious food such as soups, gyros, gourmet pizza, pierogis, cavatelli, pizza, meatballs, roasted chicken sandwiches, baklava, funnel cakes, homemade pies, ice cream, smoothies, fresh lemonade and kettle corn. The Local Eden food truck will be on the festival grounds featuring health conscious cuisine. Visit the gourmet and harvest market filled with locally grown produce, plants, fresh and dried flowers, variety of lavender, honey, maple syrup, jams, teas and coffee, candy and cookies, pastries and more.

Many favorites will be returning including Luvin Lavender Farm from Madison who will have available dried lavender and numerous natural products and The Local Culinary Marketplace tent featuring handcrafted food and specialty products by local Cleveland entrepreneurs.

For the active members of the family there is a whole Farmpark to explore! Wagon rides, corn maze (The Corny Pirate Adventure Corn Maze), paved trails, nature and plant science centers, milking cows and making ice cream, a farm-themed playground and of course a collection of farm animals to meet!

Come celebrate this 38-year old tradition built on quality and uniqueness. “Many people plan their fall around the festival and attend every year,” states Roberta Rice, festival producer. The beautiful location, unique shopping experience and easy accessibility from Cleveland, Akron and western Pennsylvania make for a wonderful day excursion.

The festival hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14th and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15th. Entrance to the Farmpark is by event admission only.

Lake Metroparks Farmpark is located at 8800 Euclid Chardon Road (Route 6) in Kirtland, Ohio just one mile east of Route 306 and 5 miles south of I-90 (Exit 193).  The Farmpark will open at 9:00 a.m. both days with the festival opening at 10:00 a.m. daily.
