Forbes House has made it easy to win while helping end the cycle of domestic violence.

PAINESVILLE, OHIO (October 7, 2020) – There certainly is nothing like an in-person gathering for a good cause complete with an increased awareness for the organization and a chance to win!  As with everything, this year looks a little different for the annual Forbes House Reverse Raffle fundraiser.  This year, the event is going LIVE on Zoom, Friday evening October 9 for those who have purchased a mainboard or sideboard ticket, with tickets still available.  To keep the event activities similar to an in-person event, the planning committee has created an online basket raffle and silent auction which is now in its final week.   “We are very pleased with the activity we have had the first two weeks of our basket raffle and silent auction and look to finish strong with this segment of our annual reverse raffle, states Kathy Strancar, Executive Director.  The final week of the three-week raffle runs Tuesday October 6 through Sunday, October 11 at 11:59pm with the winners to be notified by email on Monday.   Week three has variety of unique items available to win.  Prizes up for grabs include a “Good Eats” board filled with over $500 of restaurant gift cards, an overnight stay & wine tour, date night in 216, portable grill, estate planning package, Kong Dog basket full of tons of dog toys,  monthly cake ball certificate for a year, $500 fragrance basket and a Steele Mansion tour for 10, are just a few of the available items.  Each donated prize is featured on the weekly raffle page and includes a prize description, noting the business or individual that donated it.

Donors have the chance to win prizes or experiences by purchasing ticket entries through the Forbes House website (www.ForbesHouse.org).  The more tickets donors purchase, the better chance they will have to win the prize of their choice.  This is a fun way for the community to get involved and to make an impact on ending the cycle of domestic violence.

Along with weekly basket raffles, an online silent auction is also running for three weeks with items such as an exotic car rental donated by Dream Car Adventures, a curator lead art tour donated by University Hospitals and a dinner for 8 at Manor House donated by Lake Erie College.  All items for bid and details can be found on the Forbes House website.  The silent auction has a closing bid time of 9:00PM on October 9th.

Both the online basket raffle and silent auction are part of the Virtual Reverse Raffle benefiting Forbes House, known as Cash Dash & Dinner Bash.  Typically, a full evening affair, this year it will be online from 7pm-8pm, Friday October 9 in the comfort of your own home.  Just as in-person, the event includes mainboard tickets for a chance to win $2500 and $3, $5 and $10 sideboards, a 50/50 raffle and even a wine pull.  Mainboard tickets are $50 and include the link to be part of the LIVE virtual event.  Tickets can be purchased at www.ForbesHouse.org along with sideboard tickets and all activity entries.  One of everyone’s favorite activities is the wine pull, where $20 buys you a surprise bottle of wine with one bottle specially marked winning $100 and 3 others receiving a surprise gift!

“The Cash Dash & Dinner Bash reverse raffle is our main fundraiser and we are excited to go virtual as it allows people from all over to participate in many different ways,” Strancar states.    The support we receive from the fundraiser enables us to provide free programs and services that help empower individuals and families to end the cycle of domestic violence.  Though we are virtually together for the event this year we can still make a real difference!”
