The Portage Park District owns over 1,000 acres of park property across the county that are not yet open to the public. With new levy funding, the District is proceeding with developing plans for improving these properties and opening them as parks. To get input on how they should be developed and for what uses, the public is invited to participate in hikes guided by Christine Craycroft, executive director, on Sundays at 1 p.m. through Labor Day weekend.
