If you are a true Herb Nerd, you WILL find a way to grow your precious plants!

Oftentimes, people limit their definition of ‘garden’ to mean only a plot of ground measuring x’ by x’ in which to plant their herbs, flowers, and veggies.  But what if you don’t have a plot of ground? Are you doomed to an existence devoid of  joy and the personal satisfaction of nurturing your green babies into full grown adults that can be snipped, dried, hung, sautéed, crushed – or whatever it is you do to them – that makes your heart and nose sing? I think not! Herb Nerds are crafty creative folk who have adapted numerous household gadgets and found objects to become that which no other human would consider using to satisfy such a longing. When the brain is squeezed, just like the plant, it yields incredibly delightful results! So for those who have no plot of ground – take heart! Here we have a collection of novel ideas from fellow herb nerds who solved the dilemma for themselves and possibly for you too. But I suspect after seeing just one or two of these photos, your adrenaline will have kicked in and you will be off with pen and paper designing your own…..

…and what about your child’s old dump truck?

…how about painting some of those nice cardboard boxes you get in the mail then line them with plastic?

…a useless coffee pot? A large muffin tin, piggy banks, inverted umbrellas!

If you can get dirt into it – you can have a garden!

So don’t limit yourself – be resourceful and satisfy your need to be in the garden; whether outside, inside, on a deck, or a rooftop…or even containers on the back seat of your car – kind of like a greenhouse! Creativity has no limits, so experiment and feed that need to satisfy your inner herb nerdiness!
