It would take pages to enumerate all the awesome activities that will be going on at the largest summer celebration in Portage County! Celebrating their 9th year of family fun, the Garrettsville Summerfest will be here in just 10 days! Live music, car and bike shows, raffle, food, contests, races, music, oodles of entertainment, the Grand Parade, fireworks…all are coming to town next weekend.

The Pet Idol Photo Contest, sponsored by The Middlefield Banking Company, needs your amazing pet photo by this Friday, June 21. This contest is free to enter and winners will be decided by those who purchase ballots at the Summerfest Information Booth from 7:00 p.m. June 28 – 12:00 p.m. June 30 to cast votes for their faves. This contest will give 100% of the proceeds to the Portage County Animal Protective League, an organization that works tirelessly to place animals in loving homes largely through a dedicated staff of volunteers. This is a great way to have fun AND support a local shelter, so be sure to vote!
Rules for entry are as follows:
- The contest is open to photographers of all skill levels.
- Color and Black & White photos will be judged in same category.
- Photos will be judged by Summerfest attendees via official ballot from June 28–June 30 (details below).
- All entries submitted by mail or in person must be unframed and unmounted. No Glass!!!
- If photos are to be returned, provide a self addressed, stamped envelope (with correct postage) with photos and entry form.
- Photos must be received by Friday, June 21, 2013.
- Limit 5 entries per person.
