This four generation farm has been blessing the local folks in and around Hiram since the 1940s. Monroe’s Orchard & Farm Market, LLC was purchased by Herbert Warner in 1938. The next year apples were planted and the farm was converted to an orchard soon after. The orchard has approximately 25 varieties of apples, six varieties of peaches, also pears, strawberries, and a variety of fall crops. They also produce maple syrup every spring. Monroe’s mission is

“to bless our community, customers, neighbors and friends.
We want your experience with us to be so profoundly enjoyable, that you are compelled to tell everyone you know about us, which in turn will help us bless our family, and employees, which in turn will help us bless our community, customers, neighbors and friends only more.”

Right now it’s strawberry and cherry season. If you haven’t been there yet for strawberries, you better get a move on as the season is coming to a close! Another week will probably do it for the little sweeties. You can bring your own containers or purchase containers at the Market to pick in. You can pick your own or purchase pre-picked most days. If you want pre-picked, call to make sure they have them that day. Each day the strawberry forecast is posted on their website, so click HERE if you intend to go today!

Cherries also are in full swing! Pick-Your-Own and pre-picked are available in the market. This is a new thing for the Monroes, but people are loving it. Best to call for the cherry forecast.

My girls and I picked a little over 5 gallons (we had 5 ice cream buckets overflowing!) of strawberries today! The berries are great…and your staff is super friendly! Even my kids mentioned how kind everyone was!
