This Saturday, April 26, Billy from Rootstown Organic Farm, Portage County’s first certified organic farmer, is coming back to market this week! He plans to have kale, spinach, cilantro, and the precious favorite, green garlic! Birdsong Organic Farm and Breezy Hill Organic Farm will also be in attendance with an abundance of fresh spring greens, micro greens, radish, turnip, and herbs, and the first harvest of ramps!
In celebration of World Book Day, Kristen at Black Dog Acres Farm is giving away 20 copies of Michael Pollan’s Botany of Desire at her booth this Saturday – first come, first served.
You will also find your favorite baked goods, grass fed meats, eggs, and cheese, apples and cider, honey and honey products, preserves, infused oils and vinegars, culinary herb blends, kettle corn, locally roasted coffee, hot prepared local foods, soaps and lotions, and more!
From the Scratch Menu:
Two pieces of French toast, sauce, sausage, and iced tea – $8
Bread is from the market, soaked in Salt of the Earth Farm eggs, whole milk, cinnamon, and local honey, served with a homemade blackberry maple syrup sauce.
Gluten free breakfast of two eggs cooked your way and two pieces of sausage, iced tea – $8
Burger combo with spinach salad and iced tea – $8 OR Burger salad with drink – $8
These are big fat hand shaped burgers, seasoned well and grilled fresh, topped with spinach, red onion, and mustard, served on a toasted wheat bun, or on a spinach salad with homemade dressing.
