School’s almost out! “Oh, YEAH!” says the child….”Oh, NO!” says the mom! Summer should be fun for everyone – both kids and parents. One way to make that happen is to pick a great summer camp for your child to attend. There are several options right here in Portage County. Last week we gave you two choices, and this week we have two more. Whether you sign them up for one session or several, there are themed weeks for every age to enjoy that build positive character along with lasting friendships. But time is a tickin’! Better pick your weeks and get on the list to guarantee your child a spot – and lots of memories to last a life time!

Camp Asbury offers seven weeks of outdoor programming for children and youth. These programs include day camp for grades 1-6; short-term residence camps for grades 2-4, week-long residence camps for grades 2-12; and wilderness trip camps for grades 8-12. Asbury annually hosts a programmed family weekend in mid-August.
Asbury continues to embrace the value of camping in small groups. Asbury’s programs are progressive — challenging campers as they mature to try new activities each year. Asbury’s programs honor multiple-intelligence learning — whether a camper is a mathematician, an active learner, a writer, an artist, or a naturalist, he or she will have fun and learn new skills at camp. Asbury’s resident programs feature a variety of accommodations: cabins, modern retreat centers or rustic camping. All events are co-educational.
For Summer 2013 every week has its own theme. No two weeks of summer are the same. Whether you attend one week of camp or multiple weeks of camp, every week has a unique flavor.
This camp really and truly has something for everyone! Choosing which week to attend will prove to be one of your most difficult decisions ever! There is absolutely no way your child won’t have fun here. Each of these themes is described in more detail on their website.
