Are you a horse owner?
Are you interested in learning how to develop better communication with your horse?
Would you like to increase the level of trust and respect your horse has toward you?
How does a FREE live demonstration given by a gifted professional horse clinician and coach sound?
Launching a three part FREE demonstration beginning Sunday, June 9, Joan Sladek of JS Horsemanship will introduce her approach and philosophy of horsemanship and the first element in this series of Building Balance 101.
Demo #1
Beginning Balance in the Round Pen
This initial program is diversified and offers much to horse owners of all riding disciplines. The round pen and its use as a viable tool for developing horse communication comes to life as Joan Sladek shares her expansive experience as a human-to-horse professional clinician and coach.
Beginning Balance in the Round Pen will showcase the essential role round penning plays in establishing a relationship with a horse. The round pen’s characteristics, that being “round,” coupled with its size, that being “reasonable and safe,” serves to aid in the development of horse and human interactions. Through techniques such as establishing direction and managing the horse’s feet, Building Balance 101 will address physical and emotional aspects of the horse and the human. Both horse and owner will:
- be introduced to the round pen
- be introduced to each other
- be introduced to a new unique language, necessary to their own specific relationship; necessary to communicate, ask questions, and provide a response.
Is the horse sensitive, athletic, or willing? Is the human consistent, soft, or animated? As the human observes and leads the horse, the horse gains trust and respect. The language is forming, the relationship launched.
Beginning Balance in the Round Pen is the ABC’s from which words can be formed and clear communication starts between horse and human.
Demos 2 and 3, Building Balance On-Line and Building Balance in Hand, further the development of that language. Words are formed, sentences structured, and soon a story unfolds. Add coaching with clinician Joan Sladek, and one might just experience a “best seller!”
Sunday’s event is FREE. It is a live demonstration instructed by Joan Sladek of JS Horsemanship. Participating in the event is Betsy Shaw, Barn Manager of Sandhill Stables, and her horse Lucky.
The day’s agenda includes a Saddle Fitting Demonstration, also complements of JS Horsemanship, and feature Heather Soones-Booher of Saddle Fitting 101.
J.S. Horsemanship is a strong advocate for establishing relationships among local horse owners and trainers as well as area businesses and educational services. These relationships reinforce our goal to bring about a cohesive network of horse enthusiasts wishing to expand their own potential and their knowledge of the horse.
By attending all three free demos, you will be entered to win a private lesson with Joan!
