Free JS Horsemanship BUILDING BALANCE 101
Demonstration and Equine Dentistry – Saturday, June 15, 2013
The 2nd of a 3 part FREE Horsemanship demonstration, Building Balance On Line, will be held this Saturday, June 15, with Joan Sladek, Certified John Lyons Instructor and founder of JS Horsemanship. Continuing to present her approach and philosophy, Joan will teach attendees the value of on line work and its role in the Building Balance 101 demo series.
Building Balance 101 is diversified and offers much to horse owners of all riding disciplines. During last week’s Round Pen program, participants and their horses initiated the creation of a language unique to their individual relationships. The learning continues as the ABC’s are reinforced and further developed with Joan Sladek’s on line knowledge and expansive experience.
As a human-to-horse professional clinician and coach, Joan will deliver information to propel your understanding of the horse and how it learns. Her well balanced approach using varied on line techniques will address these elements of the horse:
- mental (the learning side of a horse)
- emotional (the way a horse responds)
- physical (a horse’s athletic abilities)
Beginning with the awareness of space and progressing through response to pressure, the horse and human will learn safe and effective positions for leading, driving, and disengagement. As the human and horse interact, the relationship endures, and trust and respect is elevated.
Attendees to the demo will have the opportunity to practice technique by participating in live, hands-on use of tools.
- How does it feel to be the horse?
- How does it feel when you ask the horse to do…?
- How did the horse respond?
These and other thought provoking questions allow individuals to not only better understand the horse, but also themselves.
How well do you know the alphabet and how well can you teach it to your horse? As the demo series progresses, keep in mind that you are continuing to do just that. As you learn and teach the ABC’s and establish the language where words can be formed, clear communication continues.
The final demo, Building Balance in Hand, furthers the development of that language. Words are formed, sentences structured and, soon, a story unfolds. Add coaching with clinician Joan Sladek, and one might just experience a “best seller.”
Saturday’s event is FREE.
It is a live demonstration instructed by Joan Sladek of JS Horsemanship. Participating in the event is “the horse” and the audience.
The day’s agenda includes an Equine Dentistry Presentation, also complements of JS Horsemanship, and features Dr. Averie Sauder, Buckeye Veterinary Services.
J.S. Horsemanship takes people to the horse, giving them everything they need to know about the horse and about themselves when with a horse. When people enter the Building Balance 101 program, they have a goal in mind. JS Horsemanship does too: to help people recognize small, incremental, and sometimes personal victories that line the path to achievement. JS Horsemanship is a strong advocate for establishing relationships among local horse owners and trainers, as well as area businesses and educational services. These relationships reinforce our goal to bring about a cohesive network of horse enthusiasts wishing to expand their own potential and their knowledge of the horse.
