Happy Trails logoIt’s holiday time and there are plenty of ways to give! For some, going out and volunteering or having to commit so many hours per week is really difficult. Here is one way you can help out without much effort, in one trip, accomplish holiday shopping, and best of all – support the work of this dedicated organization. Every penny of your purchase will go directly to benefit the animals that call Happy Trails Farm Sanctuary their home.

The new and improved Happy Trails Gift Shop has officially opened!

New merchandise is arriving daily. Some of the items you will find in the Gift Shop include winter wear logo apparel, including neon hoodies, fleece jackets and vests, zip-front sweatshirts and two-tone pullovers. peppermint-patty-3Speaking of piggies…

This lovely little gal is the latest to be added to the pen. Isn’t she the cutest ever! On a recent trip to OSU for veterinary care, Happy Trails had the opportunity to save a trip. They received a request for assistance from the Capital Area Humane Society in Columbus (what a coincidence!). A stray farm piggy was rescued, with no one claiming ownership. What would they do with a four month old farm pig?

The red and white baby was brought to Ashley Ehmann, Happy Trails Animal Caregiver/Manager while she was there at the OSU Vet Hospital, where a vet student immediately fell in love with her and named her Peppermint Patty. Peppermint Patty stayed at OSU, where she also was spayed on the following day, received an overall exam, vaccinations, and deworming. She is now temporarily residing in a recovery stall at Happy Trails where they are working on keeping her stitches and incision clean until they are ready to be removed.

Peppermint Patty, who just happens to be very sweet and thrives on attention, will be available for adoption to a kind and loving home. So if you are interested in adopting Peppermint Patty, contact Ashley at 330-296-5914. See more HERE.

Who knows. This could be the belly you get to rub on Black Friday!

Holidays are about giving. This is such an easy and fun way to do so. It really doesn’t take much to keep the spirit of Christmas alive and removed from the commercialization it has succumbed to. Let your kids experience the joys of sharing and caring. Stop by this weekend or any weekend and help make a difference in the lives of these animals!
