On February 21, 2014, Jay Byrne from Garrettsville joined approximately 40 supporters and volunteers at the Portage County Gardener’s Center to learn about the proposed ½ mill tax levy to support the Portage Park District.
The levy will go before the voters on May 6, 2014. The event, sponsored by the Citizens for Portage Parks, featured an overview of the funding crisis, the campaign strategy and ideas on how to raise awareness of the current situation.
