Here is a pie that everyone wants the recipe for when I serve it up at a Luau or potluck event. It takes just 10 minutes to make two pies and 2 hours for them to set.

This recipe is from Hawaii and it originally was enjoyed by servicemen and women while they were stationed in Hawaii during World War II. They enjoyed it so much that the recipe finally made its way to the mainland where their families and friends could enjoy it as much as they did. During World War II, our family had several loved ones stationed in Hawaii; two of them were Pearl Harbor survivors.

I am sure you, your family, and friends will enjoy this pie just as much as ours has over the years. This month our 105th White Family Reunion will be held and this pie will be gracing the potluck table in honor of many who served and are still serving in the Armed Forces.

Ingredients:

  • 1 – 9” graham cracker pie crust
  • 1 – 5.1 oz. box of Vanilla instant pudding and pie filling – dry
  • 1 – 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple including the juice
  • 1 – 8 oz. container of sour cream

Directions:

In a large bowl mix the dry pudding, crushed pineapple with its juice and the sour cream together until well mixed.

Pour the mixture into the 9” graham cracker crust

Chill for 2 hours, serve and enjoy!
