Tree City Carvers of Kent, Ohio had a great weekend at Art in the Park, Sept 6-7, 2014. Kent’s Art in the Park attracts near 15,000 people and promotes fine art through the cultural and artistic resources within the community and surrounding region while providing educational art experiences for children.
“The club is proud to brag that we won the Best Display award at the show,” says Diane Harto, member of the club. “We are a fun bunch of people who [engage in] the ancient art of woodcarving while we whittle away the hours, laughing and telling tall tales. The club is celebrating it’s 42nd year as a group and hopes to keep going another 40 years! We meet at Fred Fuller Park on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. The meetings are free and open to the public.”
This month on October 21 from 7:30 to 9:30 pm they are excited to welcome guest speaker Scott Snyder of Trott Wood Creations where he and his wife make wonderful rocking horses to donate to the children of fallen and disabled soldiers. If you ever wanted to know about wood carving, this would be a great opportunity to do so!
